Race Results: World Superbike Imola (including Canadian results)

The top three finishers in both Superbike races at Imola were identical this weekend, with the usual suspects of Ducati’s Chaz Davies and Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea owning the podium.

Race 1

Davies topped the podium here, with Rea finishing second and Sykes third. Jordi Torres was a surprising fourth aboard his BMW, and Davide Giugliano (Ducati) rounded out the top five.

Race 2

This saw Davies, Rea, and Sykes finish in the exact same order again. Giugliano managed to improve to fourth, and Leon Camier (MV Agusta) was fifth).

Canadian results

European Junior Cup competitor Stacey Nesbitt had a weekend off (no EJC race at Imola), and she was instead hooning around Shannonville, according to Facebook … Calgarian Braeden Ortt qualified in the Supersport event, which ended up being restarted a few laps in. Ortt had retired before the restart, but lined up for the second start and finished last (31st). That’s better than a DNF, and Ortt’s still learning his trade, as the youngest-ever rider in that series.
