In the market for an oddball bike? Uncommon Motors can help

If you’re in the market for a bike with a bit of a twist — say, an ultra-clean sandcast CB750, or a scramblerized Sportster — Uncommon Motors might be able to help.

The website (found here) is the brainchild of Paul Crowe, the same guy who’s been running the Kneeslider blog for years. While the Kneeslider’s name brings to mind images of leather-clad racers aboard sportbikes festooned with sponsorship, in reality it delivers something different. Crowe’s site usually focuses on oddball machines, usually ones built with a mind for performance. Like, say, a V-twin built from Royal Enfield pieces.

Uncommon Motors will focus on those machines as well — the ones that are for sale. According to Crowe, “This is a spin off from The Kneeslider and HorsePowerSports and the entire focus is going to be on vehicles for sale. Naturally there will be a lot of motorcycles, but there will be cars, trucks and really almost any self propelled motor vehicle that looks to be special in some way. I’ll be the editor and publisher there, same as here, but it gives me the opportunity to focus on what’s for sale without mixing those listings with the news and tech articles you see here.

There you have it. Most of us don’t have the Uncommonly Healthy Wallet needed to afford bikes like these, but at least it’s a cool site to keep an eye on.

  1. Reading the opening page of CMG gives me enough exposure to oddball bikes, thank you. Buell, Zero, Royal Enfield all qualify.
