Canadian roadracer Stacey Nesbitt completed her first European Junior Cup event on the weekend, and although it’s hard to tell from World Superbike’s cluttered standings on their website, she placed second in her event.

The EJC race (all on spec Honda CBR650 racebikes) was won by Harun Cabuk. By the official standings sheet, Nesbitt finished 27th. However, remember Nesbitt is running in the Women’s class, which means although her results are listed with male racers, she’s actually competing with other females. The timesheets EJC posted to their Facebook page show her in-class results were pretty good.

The top woman racer was 15th-place Avalon Biddle, the winner of the last year’s female series. Nesbitt was the next-fastest female, second in her class, ahead of five other women. Not bad, considering it was her first race in the series.

Having said that, she’s used to beating men on the track (in CSBK, she had 106 points in Pro Superbike in 2015, and 149 in Pro Sport Bike, better than plenty of male racers). You can bet she’d like to not only vault to the front of the women’s field, but the lead of the whole pack.

Nesbitt’s next race is April 17, at the Assen Circuit.
