This being one of those rare weekends with both a MotoGP race and a World Superbike doubleheader, there was lots of racing action on the telly. Here are the results of those two events:

MotoGP Results

Marc Marquez (Honda) won the race, with Rossi finishing in second, and Dani Pedrosa rounding out the podium. The top 10 was completed by Eugene Laverty, Hector Barbera, Pol Espargaro, Stefan Bradl, Bradley Smith, Tito Rabat, and Alvaro Bautista, in that order.

Johann Zarco, Sam Lowes, and Jonas Folger finished 1-2-3 in Moto2, and the Moto3 podium was comprised of winner Khairul Idham Pawi, then Jorge Navarro, then Brad Binder.

MotoGP Standings Top 10
1). Marc Marquez, Honda, 41 pts.
2). Valentino Rossi, Yamaha, 33 pts.
3). Dani Pedrosa, Honda, 27 pts.
4). Jorge Lorenzo, Yamaha, 25 pts.
5). Andrea Dovizioso, Ducati, 23 pts.
6). Pol Espargaro, Yamaha, 19 pts.
7). Hector Barbera Ducati, 18 pts.

World Superbike Results

Chaz Davies (Ducati) took Race 1 on Saturday, with the perennially strong Kawasakis of Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes finishing second and third. Davies won again Sunday, and the Kawasakis once again took second and third, but this time their order was reversed, with Sykes ahead of Rea — a rare result, despite Sykes’s usual Superpole dominance. The Kawasakis may beat the rest of the grid regularly, but since Rea moved over from Honda, he’s had Sykes’s number.

World Superbike Standings Top 10
1). Jonathan Rea, Kawasaki, 131 pts.
2). Chaz Davies, Ducati, 105 pts.
3). Tom Sykes, Kawasaki, 102 pts.
4). Michael Van Der Mark, Honda, 74 pts.
5). Davide Giugliano, Ducati, 56 pts.
6).  Stephane Guintoli, Yamaha, 53 pts.
7). Jordi Torres, BMW, 53 pts.
8). Nicky Hayden, Honda, 41 pts.
9). Markus Reiterberger, BMW, 31 pts.
10). Xavi Fores, Ducati, 28 pts.

  1. I was glued to the TV most of Sunday. There was some bonehead moves by both PJ Jacobson in super sport and Ianonni in Motogp, Chaz was untouchable, and once again Rossi was in the right place. The Michelin tires have been interesting and bad luck once again for Hayden.
