Motovan, CSBK announce deal

Canadian Superbike’s Pro Sport Bike prizes just got bigger, thanks to a deal with Motovan, and fans are also going to have a chance to win swag.

This week, CSBK announced a two-year agreement that sees parts/accessories distributor Motovan become one of the series’ major sponsors. As part of the deal, Motovan will be doubling the year-end payout for the Pro Sport Bike series to $13,000. Liquid Moly, the German lubricant brand distributed by Motovan, will become the title sponsor for that series.

But there’s not just more money for racers. Motovan is also working with CSBK on a prize package for fans worth $30,000. This initiative will see swag handed away at tracks, through social media promotions, and other methods (the now-prevalent “like-this-Facebook-post-to-win-a-helmet” marketing strategy). Keep your eyes on CSBK’s Twitter, Instagram, and other social media, and attend the races, and you could pick up some new riding gear this summer.

This season, the defending champ in Pro Sport Bike is Kenny Riedmann, who wrestled that crown away from Jodi Christie last summer. The first race this season is the May 27-29 round at Shannonville, where CSBK returns after a year away from the track.
