CMG Newsletter draw winner

Do you get the CMG monthly newsletter? Well apart from getting a summary of all that was good and great on CMG the previous week, you also missed out on our latest giveaway – a set of DrySpec waterproof luggage, courtesy of  Twisted Throttle Canada and valued at $279.69.

The first to respond to our draw was Farmer Pat Burke, an avid CMG reader since the early days and the lucky owner of an original 1987 Honda Transalp. Pat takes this bike anywhere and everywhere, including off road where it belongs, courtesy of the Rally Connex Fall Colours Tour. For 2016 he’s planning on heading to James Bay, near Radisson – quite the adventure.

Pat’s Transalp will be heading to James Bay in 2016 with a new set of DrySpec waterproof luggage, courtesy of Twisted Throttle Canada.

Pat was an early adopter of the small bore bikes, originally purchasing a  200cc Konker – yes the same bike that CMG acquired and has abused ever since. He put 25,000km on it in two years before he upgraded to the Transalp. As with the CMG Konker it hasn’t been without issues, Pat renaming it ‘Ebola Bike’ – thanks its numerous oil leaks (yep, been there, seen it). It is currently waiting to be repowered with a 1973 CB350 twin, which should make for an interesting machine.

The Dryspec waterproof luggage should prove to be ideal for that 2016 James Bay tour. Safe riding Pat. Oh, and be sure to send us some pics on the 350 Konker when it’s done.

  1. Congratulations Pat! Have a great ride to James Bay, if you have the time book a tour of the Robert Bourassa Hydro Generating Station it is a truly monumental feat of engineering and it’s free!
