Norman Reedus is best-known for playing Daryl Dixon on AMC’s The Walking Dead, riding around on a motorcycle and taking out zombies with his crossbow. Now, he’s taking that motorcycle action to the real world with a new show.
The word on the street is that Reedus is going to film a six-episode show next year, rumoured to be titled Ride with Norman Reedus. The plan is, he’ll head around the US, riding madly off in all directions with a new riding buddy each episode, discovering motorcycle culture unique to different cities.
This is a show that could go either way. While American reality TV has a terrible history of butchering motorcycle content, it’s also true that Reedus actually has a long history of interest and involvement with motorcycles that goes beyond growing a walrus mustache and bolting crap on to choppers to sell to clueless corporate clients. There are lots of funky and weird bike-centric subcultures in the US, and if Reedus tells their stories, it could be fun. Or, we could get more American Chopper … an idea appropriately horrifying for this Halloween season.
