Race 2 victory went to factory Ducati rider Chaz Davies, giving the famous Italian brand its first world superbike race win since 2012. Davies led the race almost from the start to the finish, easily dominating the rest of the field.
Race 1 winner, Kawasaki Racing’s Johnathan Rea maintained a strong hold on his world championship lead by placing second, just ahead of Aprilia factory rider Leon Haslam. The trio broke away leaving Haslam’s teammate Jordi Torres to take a lonely forth place with Ducati’s Xavi Fores rounding out the top 5.
