Watch last weekend’s WSB races, for free

The Phillip Island World Superbike double-header is available for free on YouTube at the moment, although it may not be there for long.

It’s not always easy to watch top-level roadracing. You’ve got to spring for the pricy video packages available from Dorna and hope your Internet connection can handle the streaming, or you’ve got to figure out how to hack into a video feed from another country, or pay for a cable package that carries the racing (and that’s not always possible).

However, with the ever-increasing growth of YouTube, more and more regional series are popping up online for free (like CSBK), and now some benevolent online pirate has posted last weekend’s WSB races online for free. They may not be on there for long. On the other hand, this could be the start of a season-long free ride for viewers unwilling or unable to pony up the dough to watch elsewhere.

  1. I’m on Shaw Direct (Satellite) and got Speed channel and Supercross. It’s now changing to Fox Sports Racing channel, and keeping my fingers crossed for continuation of Supercross and MotoGP.

BEin sport is also on a free preview and I watched WSBK Race 2 from Phillip Island. Great picture, terrible sound mixing. I could hardly hear the glorious bikes, too much volume of the announcers voiceover.

    • The WSBK subscription direct from the Dorna WSBK site is excellent. This year does not feature Jonathan Green and Steve Martin on commentary, so the feeling is a little more in line with MotoGP (Gregory Haines is in the #2 seat on both series).

As to the racing, holy moly, race 1 was one of the best races I’ve seen in years. Race 2 was almost as good. If you can find a way to watch race 1, do it.
