Tinmouth to Honda factory squad

Jenny Tinmouth, a regular competitor in British Gp, Supersport and Superbike competition with her own team, has been offered the chance of a lifetime with a ride on the official Honda factory superbike squad in the British Superbike series.

The 36-year-old resident of Chester, near the Welsh border south of Liverpool, has had a highly successful racing career in 125 GP bikes, Supersport machinery, and electric racers, plus two successful runs at the Isle of Man TT in 2009 and 2010, where she set a still-standing lap record for female competitors.

She’ll be partnering Jason O’Halloran and Dan Linfoot on factory Honda CBR1000RRs and said she was completely surprised and “over the moon” when the team approached her.

“I went for a meeting with [team boss] Nick Campolucci to discuss the season and had a few cheeky questions I wanted to ask about Honda helping me out with bikes … and came out as a full-time Honda rider. It’s always been my ultimate dream to ride for the team and to have the opportunity this year is just amazing.”

Honda Racing is currently the only manufacturer-owned team on the British Superbike grid, and won the riders’ championship in 2013 with Alex Lowes (currently riding for Suzuki in World Superbike).
