Yamaha is very keen for the public to make a connection between their new R1 and MotoGP. They’re also keen to sell plenty of superbikes. So, hence this video promo.
This video clip actually showed at EICMA during the Yamaha launch, when MotoGP star Valentino Rossi was on-stage showing off the bike. So watching this is sort of like being at that launch, minus all the grubby journos elbowing as they jockey for photo positions … Anyway, here it is, showing the new machine in all its glory. Supposedly, the bike was designed with Rossi’s input, and he says the electronics are very similar to his factory bike.
