Yamaha upgrades TMAX

Yamaha has upgraded the TMAX maxi-scooter for 2015, with new suspension and other changes.

In keeping with their plan to portray the TMAX as an option for sportier riders, Yamaha has put 41 mm USD forks on the maxi-scooter, along with radial-mount four-piston front brakes and 267 mm front discs.

The motorcycle industry is moving towards LED lights as standard, and the TMAX sports a pair of LED lamps up front.

But wait! There’s more! Yamaha also re-worked the TMAX to make it more user-friendly. Added creature comforts include a 12-volt accessory plug (for your phone, presumably) and a Smart Key system that controls all your locks electronically when inserted in the bike (fuel cap, storage compartments, etc.) and also works as an anti-theft immobilizer. There’s also a set of new folding mirrors, which should make it easier to roll the step-through into storage.

The front fender and fairing have also been redesigned. The TMAX will only be available in grey for our market, at a $10,499 price tag.
