So, fall is fast approaching, and that means all the big shows are soon approaching – AIME, Intermot and EICMA are all around the corner. And that also means the manufacturers are also out testing prototypes and getting caught in the act.

First up – KTM introduced the 1190 Adventure last year, but after only a short run, they’re supposedly making it bigger and badder, with spy shots surfacing that allegedly show a 1290 version of the bike, labeled as a “Super Adventure.”

It’s not as if the 1190 was lacking in power – its motor was derived from the RC8 superbike. It’s possible this model (as Asphalt and Rubber speculates) will only be an upscale version of the 1190, not a replacement, intended for the especially well-heeled who need mo’ powah. In any case, this bike will probably be unveiled officially at one of the European shows, either Intermot (October) or EICMA (November).

Second – for a few weeks now, rumours have been circulating about a new Suzuki naked bike, built around the GSX-R 1000 platform. This photo, showing a blue bike undergoing testing, supposedly popped up somewhere in the US. We’re not sure who took the snap, as this photo came from Visordown and they don’t say where they got it, but it bears a Chris Doane copyright. Bernhard Hohne also had shots of this bike.

In any case – we’re guessing we’ll see this bike unveiled at Intermot or AIME this fall.
