New Road Glide unveiled officially

About a month ago, we showed you spy shots of Harley-Davidson’s new Road Glide; now, that bike has been unveiled officially, after a year out of the lineup.

As the spy shots indicated, the shark-nose fairing has been upgraded, with a new infotainment system (BoomBox 4.3) and LED lighting, supposedly with more power and spread than the previous incandescent lighting. Supposedly, the new fairing has less buffeting at speed, but with improved airflow.

It has the High Output Twin Cam 103 engine, like all of Harley’s touring lineup that isn’t powered by the Twin-Cooled motor. The Road Glide Special gets linked braking and ABS as standard, now, along with an upscale BoomBox 6.5GT infotainment system, including GPS capabilities.

The new Road Glide hasn’t made it to the Canadian Harley-Davidson site yet, but it will cost around $20,899 for the standard Road Glide for the standard bike in the US; obviously, the Special version will cost more.
