Red Bull X-Fighters takes to the water

This weekend, the Red Bull X-Fighters freestyle motocross competition reaches Munich, but the track is going to be a little different from usual. For this event, they’re taking to the water.

For Saturday’s freestyle showdown, Red Bull has managed to get a floating track into the lake in Olympic Park. It’s built roughly in the shape of a triangle, with a superkicker, two quarterpipes, four regular ramps, and two gap jumps. It’s the first time they’ve ever tried this idea, and also the first time they’ve used a linear track.

The track is 450 metres long, and weighs as much as a dozen 747s. To see how they built it, watch the video below.
