Rossi’s Mugello leathers up for auction

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi was a fast friend of Marco Simoncelli (the racer who died in 2011 at Sepang) and wore leathers to prove it at Mugello a few weeks ago. Now, you can buy those leathers.

Rossi’s leathers at Mugello had the words #thisforSIC58 stitched into the back to show his support for the Simoncelli Foundation. The Foundation is building a day centre for disabled people near Simoncelli’s hometown of Coriano, in Italy, and now Rossi has those Dainese leathers on the auction block to support that project.

The leathers will be on eBay starting today. The lucky winner will have the leathers delivered in a special display case, and the funds raised will go towards that day centre project.
