Harley-Davidson continues to think outside the box to promote their new Street 500 and 750 models, with an upcoming appearance at the Austin X Games, showing the bikes off in a flat track racing role.

Harley-Davidson showed up at the winter X Games in Aspen last winter to show off their bikes in an ice racing role, gauging the public’s interest in ice racing as an X Games event. Now, it seems they’re trying to get dirt track racing out of the county fair venues and into the X Games.

Brad “the Bullet” Baker, the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National champ, will be leading an exhibition race that’s going to have the highlights broadcast on ESPN. Harley-Davidson is using the Twitter hashtag #XGamesFlatTrack to whip up some buzz on the event; they’re hoping to see it become a medal event at the games.
