KTM announces 2014 Adventure Rider Rally

While the KTM isn't going to dethrone BMW's R1200GS as the world's most popular big-bore adventure tourer, it presents an option for riders who want more performance in the dirt.

KTM has announced their 11th annual Adventure Rider Rally in the US; this year, it’s taking place in Taos, New Mexico on Sept. 19-21.

New Mexico is a long way to travel for most Canadians, but Team Orange has a lot of events schedules, should you decide to make the trip – this is a rally for adventure riders, after all.

Along with demo rides and rider training, there’ll be visits from KTM factory riders (including Andrew Short, Chris Fillmore, Mike Lafferty and Paul Krause) and the opportunity for self-guided rides in the area as well – and New Mexico is an adventure rider’s paradise. And, like any rally, there’ll be food, games and fun.

It’ll cost $165 to pre-register, or $190 if you decide to just jump on your bike, ride down there, and register at the event itself. Lodgings are not included in that price. Find out more at KTM’s website here.
