Rogers drops Speed channel

Were you looking forward to watching MotoGP races on the Speed channel this summer? Rogers has stopped carrying it as of March 1 (read more here) and the word is that Bell is also canceling the channel on May 1.

There’s several competing rumors explaining the channel’s Canadian demise (some blame CRTC regulations, others say it’s all about the bottom dollar), but most people seem to agree the channel’s content declined after Fox bought it.

So, if you want to watch MotoGP, our suggestion? Buy yourself a nice monitor for your computer, and sign up to watch online. While you’re at it, sign up for World Superbike video streaming, and leave the TV for your kids to watch Big Bang Theory reruns. Or, biff the thing out a window and cancel your satellite and cable …

  1. Can anyone confirm that the video packages work in Canada? I asked Dorna to confirm but they seem to be a bit deaf.

  2. Already bought the WSBK feed and would but the MotoGP if I had to but I still need to get my AMA Supercross fix. You tube I guess!

  3. I dropped Speed from my satellite service shortly after Fox ruined it. I dropped my satellite service a few months ago and couldn’t be happier. I now have lots more time and some more $ for riding!
