SW-Motech introduces new bag system

SW-Motech is likely best known for their hard luggage applications; their stuff is pretty popular with adventure riders, with years of reliability to point to. Now they’ve got a set of soft bags for sale as well.

The new Dakar bags are traditionally-shaped saddlebags, made from two-layer construction. There’s a tough outer layer (constructed from 1680D ballistic nylon) that’s meant to stand up to the rigors of the road (or off-road), and a waterproof inner layer. They have roll-top closure and a rigid backing on the side of the bag that sits next to the bike, for rigidity; it sounds almost as if SW-Motech has combined the Kriega and Ortlieb bags that we tested and liked so much.

The Dakar bags measure 35 x 45 x 25 cm; they come in grey and black. They retail for about $480 US. You can find out more details here.
