
Serving or retired members of the armed forces can pick up a discount on a new Indian motorcycle in 2014 under the just-announced Honoring Heroes program.
Under the program, serving or retired service members simply need to show up at their local Indian dealership and present a valid ID. That will qualify them for $1000 off the price of a new Indian Chief model.
Although the Harley-Davidson WLA is likely the most iconic US-built military motorcycle of all time, Indian supplied the US and her allies in both world wars, before running into financial woes in the 1950s, even building an experimental shaft-drive bike along the lines of the BMW R71 and Harley-Davidson XA. This is their way of reminding buyers of that past, said a bigwig from parent company Polaris’s motorcycle division.
