The 2014 Dakar rally is now underway, and it’s looking like KTM’s dominance is under fire.
Joan Barreda Bort took first place in Sunday’s opening stage for Honda’s factory team. KTM was right behind, with Marc Coma in second place, in his return to Dakar (he missed the 2013 race due to injury). Cyril Despres was in third, aboard his Yamaha.
Alain Duclos was in fourth, aboard a Sherclo, and Paulo Goncalves took fifth on his Honda. You can see the official video summary below; the bike action starts around the two-minute mark.
