Held North America is closing down

Held has a reputation for top-quality kit, but you rarely see it in use in North America.

It may come as a shock to you, but Held North America is closing down.

The shock, of course, is not that the gear manufacturer won’t be selling their equipment in North America – you’re probably surprised because you didn’t know the stuff was available over here in the first place. While the German company’s protective gear looked like top-quality kit when on display in the show circuit, it wasn’t something you saw on the road regularly – which is likely why the company’s North American arm is closing down.

However, the word on the street is that the company hasn’t given up on the market here, and are planning to re-enter North America – hopefully with more success next time.

  1. Also agree with all above. Have the Steve, hawk gtx and rainstar gtx in daily service for many years. Interestingly the Rev-It Bastien GTX is superior in warmth/wind protection/waterproof.

  2. That is too bad for us. I bought a pair of held gloves quite a few years ago, the problem for them is that they are so good, I have never needed to buy another pair since.
