A few months back, we told you about Austin Vince’s latest film, Mondo Sahara, which saw its debut at Overland Expo.
At the time, Vince said the film shown was essentially the finished product. But, it sounds as if he’s put a lot more editing in since then. In any case, the finished product is now available for sale at Dirtpunk and Amazon. It’ll set you back 18 quid, plus change, unless some enterprising North American retailer gets the film in stock.
In any case, Vince’s work is usually enjoyable for the DIY types, especially if you’ve got an urge to see the world yourself. The film’s stars don’t ride big Beemers with SUVs hauling their sleeping bags, they’re not temporarily-out-of-work Hollywood types, they don’t take themselves too seriously and they’re not doing anything the average Joe couldn’t pull off with a bit of planning. There’s a flavour of 60s/70s nostalgia throughout, and a groovy retro soundtrack. The trailer is below …
