Eugene Laverty will ride a Suzuki in World Superbike racing next year.
Crescent Suzuki announced they’ve procured the 27-year-old Irishman’s services for the 2014 season; he’ll be aboard a GSX-R 1000 next year. Laverty had been with Aprilia’s factory team, and won nine races in 2013, leaving him in second place in the championship race. In the past, he’s won the British 12 5cc championship, the MotoGP 250cc championship, and finished twice as runner-up in the World Supersport class.
It’s not 100 per cent clear from their news release, but it seems the deal is only for one year.
Gateway to a MotoGP ride in 2015 ?
