Kymco has confirmed they’re bringing their MyRoad 700i maxi-scooter to Canada.

The MyRoad 700i is a mammoth step-through, with a 695 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin motor. Their website lists a 265 kg weight, but doesn’t say if that’s curb weight or dry weight. It has an automatic CVT transmission, dual 280 mm brake discs up front with two-piston calipers and ABS, and a single 240 mm disc in rear with two-piston caliper.

Perhaps the most interesting feature on the new scooter is electronic suspension damping adjustment. Kymco says there are three suspension damping modes, controlled from the handlebar. That’s a feature you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see on a scooter from Taiwan, but it’s clear Kymco is making an assault on the luxury market with the machine. Their promotional copy tells us “This ultra luxurious scooter is built with the refined gentlemen in mind, the James Bond type let’s say.” We can’t wait to see what gadgets Q has hidden aboard the scooter for us …

The new scooter has LED turn signals and brake light, and enough under-seat storage to fit two full-face helmets. It’s a little unclear what fuel capacity is – in one place they say there’s 12.8 litres of fuel, and in another they claim 15 litres; perhaps the difference is made up by the reserve setting.

MSRP for the new MyRoad 700i is $9,995 in Canada. More details are available here.
