So, a few weeks ago we ended up getting in touch with two local riders who are going on a trip to western Newfoundland and Labrador. That’s right, the same trek that ‘Arris and Jim attempted back in 2011, spectacularly unsuccessfully.
The riders, middle-aged average guys named Terry Burt and Peter Oxley, are on a KLR650 and V-Strom 1000. They’re doing periodic blog updates from their trip, and they’re also taping their adventures along the way; they’re planning to produce video webisodes when they get back, with help from Hemmings House.
They left for their trip on the weekend, and right now, they’re bombing around the Newfie mainland.
If you think this sounds fun, check out their blog here! Here’s some excerpts from their first blog update on the road:

… Chief Engineer of Blue Putees, Mark Lewis, took us on a tour of the bridge, and upgraded me to an outside room with a queen sized bed. Plus he arranged for us to be allowed on the bridge the following morning while docking. Awesome or what? The dumbass that I am, I never even got a picture of Mark, or interviewed him. Some videography I’m shaping up to be …
