If you want to see some hard racing, this weekend’s CSBK action at Mont-Tremblant should satisfy.

All season long, Jordan Szoke has led the pro superbike series, despite a string of recent second-place finishes. But with Jodi Christie’s bad luck at Mosport, Szoke is now only facing an outside chance of a challenge for the title from Alex Welsh. Welsh has consistently scored podiums all season long as well, and he’s currently sitting on 210 points to Szoke’s 251.

That means a DNF by Szoke and a win by Welsh (worth 50 points; a second is worth 42 points) could claw the title from Szoke at the last minute. Is it likely? Probably not, but this is racing, where anything can happen. Bodi Edhie, who came out of nowhere to win the first race at Mosport, will be at Mont-Tremblant, and Christie should have his CBR1000 banged back into shape, so there are four riders who could easily take first.

The Harley-Davidson XR1200 spec series could be a tight race as well. Steve Crevier, who’s won the last two series, only has a 28-point lead on Michael Taylor.

Christie has clinched the pro sport bike title, but John Ross MacRae from Calgary is likely going to push hard for a win in the last race aboard his Triumph. The CBR250 class is already decided as well, with Tomas Casas the victor, but he’s going to aim for wins seven and eight this weekend, and judging by his dominance this year, he’ll probably take them.
