As most CSBK fans now know, there was a serious crash early on in last weekend’s second amateur superbike race, which left all sorts of rumours flying.
We still haven’t seen a lot of details about the incident, but as far as we can find out, Christian Auger, #13, is still in hospital after the crash. The last update we have is a day old; he was in a coma at that point, but stable, in a Toronto hospital.
There’s been two Facebook pages set up for people wishing him and his family well at this time. You can visit them here and here.
Auger, 34 years old, is from Quebec.
As well, at the St-Eustache trackdays with ASM Motorsport on some folks will be raising funds for Auger and his family. There will be riders selling #13 stickers to raise money, and there’ll be a donation box as well, so if you’re at that event, stop by and be generous.
Very sad news about Christian was posted on the Get Well Soon Facebook page:
“Suite a de longue discusion avec des specialiste du cerveau les parents de Christian on decider de lui laisser une derniere nuit pour nous donner un petit signe … Donc depuis ce matin le processus pour laisser Christian partir est declancher. Je vais vous donner bientot les details pour les funerailles qui auront lieu a Shawinigan lundi le 26 aout.”
Translation:
“Following a long discussion with brain specialists Christian’s parents decided to allow him one last night to give us a sign… So this morning the process to allow Christian to leave us began. Soon I’ll give you the details for the funeral to be held in Shawinigan on Monday August 26. ”
