Racing fans looking for a weekend packed extra-full of racing thrills should head to Canadian Tire Motosport Park (a.k.a. Mosport) this weekend, for this summer’s CSBK double-header.

With points from two races up for grabs this weekend, fans could be in for a treat. In the pro superbike series, Jodi Christie is hot on leader Jordan Szoke’s heels, only 16 points behind after beating him for the win at the Shubenacadie round. Szoke didn’t seem too happy with his second-place finish in that race, so expect him to make a strong play to defend his title.

In the XR1200 series, Darren James is in first place after Steve Crevier crashed and got a DNF at Shubie, but James is only up eight points, with 122 to Crevier’s 114. Michael Taylor is sitting on 102 points in third, so this series could have some interesting twists yet.

Meanwhile, if Tomas Casas takes both of the CBR250 races, he’ll clinch that championship. Considering that the series’ champs are barred from racing again (that’s why Stacey Nesbitt isn’t racing in it this year), he might actually want to take a couple of DNFs, so he can return to racing next season …
