Could the new Yamaha D’elight scooter be coming to North America as a revamped Vino?
This week, Yamaha took the wraps off a new scooter for their European market, with classic Italian styling. It’s powered by a 114 cc motor, with fuel injection. It puts out 7.7 Nm of torque, and weighs 98 kg. Pricing is supposedly around 1800 pounds in the UK.
Now, Yamaha already has their Vino lineup of scooters, with groovy ’60s styling, leaving us with the question – will the D’elight remain an EU-only model, or will it be rebadged the Vino and brought to North America?
We’ve got a promo video for the scooter below; the characters are very similar to the people in the clip they put together for the Yamaha Bolt. Is Yamaha aiming at becoming the go-to marque for hipsters?

Looks pretty nice actually. I just hope it’s a bit bigger than the Vino which only seems to fit leprechauns.

Sounds like the hook for the Mary Tyler Moore show.
No, I’d say it more resembles ‘Born to be Mild’…er, Wild.
That’s its stripper name…
