Amarok Racing has turned to Indiegogo to raise funds for their Pikes Peak race challenge this summer.

We’ve already told you about Amarok’s hot new electric racebike, and we’ve told you about their plans to attack the Colorado-based hillclimb with Greg Tracy aboard their machine. Now, you can help them get to the races.

Check out their Indiegogo page here. They’re looking to raise $7,500, and with 18 days left, they’ve only raised $970 at the time of this article. That $7,500 breaks down into $1,400 for gas to drive their van to the race, $800 for return airfare for the racer, $800 for return airfare for the videographer, $2,400 for team accommodations (five riders for 10 days) and $1,200 for the team’s food. If they raise any extra money, it will go towards making lightweight parts for their bike, to make them more competitive.

Why should you help? As their page says, “We are the first Canadian team to do compete internationally on a motorcycle designed and made in Canada since 1984 when Bombardier ceased manufacturing Can-Am bikes.  Spread the word and you help boost Canadian innovation in vehicle design and manufacturing.”
