When Vespa unveiled their new 946 at EICMA last year, we didn’t know if, or when it was coming to Canada.
Now we know the answer to both those questions. Yes, it is coming to Canada, and it should be on dealership floors in November – so not in time for this riding season (or the Mad Bastard Scooter Rally).
It’ll be an early 2014 model; if you do buy one that gives you a year and a half to prepare for the next MBSR.
I’d still rather have,if buying a scooter, a Piaggio MP3 500 [with the touring body] like they offered in 2011 but
local dealers are dropping like flies, so will probably end up with a ‘rice burner’, as they used to say. 🙁
The starting prices for the basic model Vespa 946, 125cc, excluding accessories were announced as follows: 9000 Euros in Italy, and 9000 US$ in USA. Canadian price not yet announced, but expect around 10K. I bet we’ll see a lot of them buzzing around at those prices…
