Teen racing star Stacey Nesbitt is not running in a national race series this summer.
In the last two years, Nesbitt won CSBK’s CBR125 championship, and then its CBR250 championship. However, she wasn’t eligible to race in the quarter-litre series again this season, so she’s made other plans.
This season, she’s running in the RACE regional series at Shannonville. She’s already started testing, with her first track time on the weekend. You can see her 2013 schedule here.
So, while she’s not racing in the national series, she hasn’t quit the sport, either. Hopefully she’ll reappear in CSBK after she gets some experience banging bars with older racers.
I hope she enjoys the season, stays healthy and regroups as desired to potentially go after Red Bull Rookies, CEV or one of the other breeding series that lead to Moto3. Ana Carrasco could use some company up there.
