Ducati has a new CEO, as Gabriel Del Torchio is leaving.

On Monday, we told you Gabriel Del Torchio might be leaving Ducati. Today, we’re telling you that it’s confirmed.

While Ducati’s press release doesn’t say where Del Torchio is headed, the word on the street was that he’s off to manage an airline. But Italian motorcycle fanboys need not fear – their company is still in good hands.

Ducati’s new CEO is Claudio Domenicali;  he’s been with Ducati since 1991. He was serving as General Manager of Operations and Product Development, and when Audi bought the company last spring, they appointed him to their new board of directors.

“Domenicali knows Ducati and the motorcycle business more than anyone. He embodies continuity and Ducati’s values in an exceptional manner,” said Audi CEO Rupert Stadler.
