The world’s most prestigious desert race is making a route change for 2014.
While the Dakar rally (which runs in South America these days) traveled through Peru en route from Argentina to Chile the last couple years, that country is off the list for the 2014 rally.
Instead, organizers have mapped the route to travel through Bolivia. They say the new bits through Bolivia will mostly be about “discovery,” whatever that means.
The entry process for the Dakar rally starts on May 15, and registration closes July 7. If you’re interested, and you think your fitness and riding skills are up to par, read our interview with 2013 competitor Patrick Beaule, and get in touch with him – he’s keen to help you get there.
