When the CSBK season starts next June at Shannonville, Jordan Szoke will be back aboard a BMW.
On the weekend, the 2012 champion announced he was sticking with the German manufacturer for another season, saying “We earned a #1 plate with the S1000, so it will be awesome to be back on the same equipment to defend it.”
Of course, the 2011 winner, Brett McCormick, also rode a BMW S1000RR.
While the other manufacturers are still represented, it looks as if the BMW is becoming the bike of choice in CSBK racing; at one point last summer, onlookers said it was starting to look like a spec series, with so many racers choosing the machine. BMW’s involvement in roadracing came at a time when some of the traditional players were backing away from the sport, which has put them in a position to dominate the field.
With so few Canadian rounds is Szoke planning any US races?
So’s you got (essentially) BMW Superbike Cup, HD XR1200 Cup and Honda CBR250R Challenge – yawn….
