Yamaha’s added a bagger to their V-Star lineup; they call it the 1300 Deluxe.

Here’s the 3/4 view.

This isn’t a revolutionary bike; Yamaha’s been selling V-Star 1300s for quite some time. But they’re saying this bike is the world’s first production mid-sized bagger.

Of course, that might raise a few eyebrows; while it’s true the 1300 sits between the 650 Silverado and the Stratoliner in the V-Star lineup, it’s still a heavy motorcycle. Yamaha’s V-Star 1300 Tourer weighs 323 kg (712 lbs), but the Deluxe’s weight hasn’t been published; it’s safe to guess it will be in that range, though.

Yamaha’s selling points for the bike include a claimed 18kpl (51mpg) fuel mileage rating, 28.5 litre hard shell saddlebags, a colour-matched, fork-mounted fairing with dual speakers that’s ready for your iPod or iPhone, if you need to have tunes while you cruise. Of course, it’s powered by a 1304 cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 60-degree SOHC eight-valve V-twin.

It also comes with a Garmin Zumo 665 Navigation system. The bike features a five-speed transmission, belt drive, an 18.5-litre fuel tank, a 41mm KYB front fork with dual 298 mm brake discs, and an adjustable link Monocross shock in back with a single 298 mm brake disc. Seat height is 690mm (27.2 inches). It has a 130/90-16  tire up front and a 170/70-16  tire in back.

MSRP will be $14,499.
