Kawasaki confirms Z800 for Europe

Kawasaki dropped some more details on the Z800 at Intermot.
Here’s another look at the new Z800. We don’t know if we’ll see it in Canada.

Kawasaki has confirmed they’re building the Z800, but we don’t know if it’s coming to North America or not.

Just the thing for tearing through urban centres.

The naked streetfighter will be sold in Europe in 2013, but Kawasaki already sells the Z1000 in North America … and they don’t sell the Z750 over here anymore. It doesn’t seem likely they’d bring the Z800 over, but we’ll know for sure soon enough.

Other than that, we don’t have many  more details than we did Tuesday; the bike will be powered by an inline-four 806 cc motor, likely derived from the Z750 motor that itself was derived from the ZX-9 mill.

The bike’s styling is similar to the Z1000 – looking like something from a Transformers movie. Naked bikes have a lot more plastic today than they used to.

Maybe we’ll get a few more details on the bike at Kawasaki’s Times Square takeover, but we’re more likely to be forced to wait until the Intermot show in Cologne.

The Z800’s cockpit has very angular styling.
