MotoGP racer Andrea Dovizioso has signed with Ducati’s factory team.
There have been rumours about this move for weeks, but it’s official now, with Ducati saying they’ve signed a two-year contract, starting next season.
Dovizioso has seen some success this season on Yamaha’s Tech 3 satellite team; he won a MotoGP race when he was with Honda, and he’s also won the 125GP championship. But then, Valentino Rossi had plenty of success, until he moved to Ducati; it’ll be interesting to see if Dovi can succeed where he failed.
Dovizioso is undoubtedly very happy with this announcement, but the word on the street is that his Tech 3 teammate Cal Crutchlow isn’t pleased; according to the Motorcycle News, Crutchlow says he was offered a spot with Ducati, only to have the offer yanked away in favour of hiring Dovizioso. Ouch.

Old News… CMG is slow…
If Cal is pissed off at having the offer retracted perhaps he should have signed it when it was first presented.
