There’ll be a Canadian motorcyclist racing the Dakar desert rally again, when  Patrick Beaule heads south for the 2013 edition of the classic off-road duel in South America.

Not familiar with Beaule’s name? Well, he’s won three Canadian Motorcycle Association National Enduro Pro-class titles, one Canadian Enduro Championship E1 Pro title, and two ISDE silver medals. He’s kicked butt at the Numb Bum, he’s won the Corduroy Enduro four times in the Pro class, and finished the 2012 Dakar on four wheels, as a co-driver.

He’ll be riding a KTM Rally 450, which seems to be the bike of choice for most of Dakar’s top finishers.
