This weekend!

This weekend at Mosport, you can take in VRRA racing.
This weekend in Chilliwack, you can take in the vintage motorcycle show at Heritage Park.

The Rockin’ the Horse Bike Run takes place Friday-Sunday in B.C.; it doesn’t sound like there’s many tickets left for this event, but you can check out their page here. Their information is a little tricky to decipher, but it appears the event takes place at Bruces Market in Maple Ridge. You can email kkkcarter@yahoo.ca for more details.

If V-twin rallies aren’t your thing, what about the Vintage in the Valley motorcycle show, at Heritage Park in Chilliwack, B.C.? Admission is free under 16, $10 for adults. More details are here! There’ll be a swap meet, if you need parts to get your old bike running …

In Alberta, the Howlin’ Coyote Biker Bash runs Friday-Saturday. Admission is $40 for two nights’ camping, $30 for one night of camping, and $25 for a day pass. This event is aimed at raising money for the “Last Ride” monument for Two Hills, Alberta; there’s a motorcycle run to that site scheduled for Saturday, as well as an all-day bike rodeo. It all takes place at the Howlin’ Coyote Motorcycle Campground; call 780-636-3746 for more details.

The Edmonton Motorcycle Roadracing Association’s fifth round takes place Saturday at Stratotech Park. It’ll costs you $10 at the gate to get in for the day’s racing; more details are available at their website here. Round Six takes place on Sunday, if you can’t make Saturday’s races!

In Walton, Ontario, the Parts Canada Trans Can Grand National gets underway today and runs until Sunday! Practice starts Thursday. You can find their complete schedule here, but you can count on a weekend full of off-road racing for all classes. Ticket rates are available here; there are some weekend pass options available. There’s a trade show running at the event, as well as demo rides, free helicopter rides, free team posters, draws, and a free concert by country music artist Jason Blaine.

If vintage racing is more your speed, head to the Vintage Road Racing Association’s Vintage Motorcycle Festival at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (or, as most people know it, Mosport). The VRRA’s festival runs Friday-Sunday, with motorcycle and sidecar racing, camping, a swap meet and concourse, free parking and programs, and more. You can find the event’s poster here. They’re running that “Try the Track” event again, so you can even rip around the track if you want to pay up (proceeds go to Big Brothers, Big Sisters). Admission is $10 per person Saturday and Sunday, or $30 per person for the weekend. Kids 12 and under get in free with an adult.

The Iron Sirens Charity Ride for Women’s Community House, runs Saturday in London, Ontario. It costs $25 to participate; that fee covers the BBQ at the end of the day. You can find out all the details on their web site here. Phone 519-870-5477 for more details, or email stilldreamin101@gmail.com.

On Saturday, the Windsor/Essex County Motorcycle Awareness Campaign takes place at the downtown Riverfront Plaza. Wearing T-shirts to promote motorcycle awareness? It sounds crazy, but it just might work. Check out their Facebook page here!

And of course, since it’s August, there’s a poker run, or three, running in just about every town across Canada. If you are bored out of your gourd, go for a ride and help raise funds for whatever charity your local poker run supports. Do it!
