On Saturday, Aug. 25, former and current motorcycle racers are invited to the Fourth Annual Road Racers Reunion at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park – or, The Park Formerly Known as Mosport.
What goes down at this event? Well, there’ll be a photo display by Bill Petro, a small exhibit of classic racing motorcycles and some other activities, including interviews with the Masters of Mosport who attend.
Speaking of which – here are confirmed Masters of Mosport who’ll be there this year giving autographs (a couple more are expected): Art Robbins,Dave Lloyd, Jim Arnold, Gord McKay, Steve Rice, Jonathan Cornwell, Dave Powell, Frank Leitner and Gord Bush. Oh yes, and Mr. Bond – Steve Bond. As in, CMG’s own Bondo.
This will be the first time the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame will be involved with the event, with display boards of all inductees including road racers Lang Hindle, Rueben McMurter, Michelle Mercier among those who are Honourable Members and past Masters of Mosport.
There’ll be lunch and some prizes, but no parade lap this year. Maybe they’re worried about all those ex-racers turning into a speed contest?
