Canadian racer Brett McCormick is hoping to return to the World Superbike series at the Silverstone round.

The WSBK circus returns to the British track the first weekend in August. McCormick has been out of the mix since late April, when he was forced off the track at the Assen round; he ended up with hand and back injuries. He’s been in recovery ever since.

McCormick’s bones seem to have mended, though; he started physiotherapy a couple weeks ago, he’s been riding a pedal bike for a couple months, and now he’s running around a local motocross track, getting the feel for using a throttle again.

He’s still suffering from a bit of whiplash, he says, but he’s going to have a medical checkup at the Brno round, and he’s hoping that will clear him for racing at Silverstone.
