This weekend: CSBK at Shubie, Niagara Motorcycle Show, Sturgis North

There are all sorts of rallies and rides to attend this weekend, no matter what end of the country you're in.
There are all sorts of rallies and rides to attend this weekend, no matter what end of the country you’re in.

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here are some ideas.

First up, the Shubenacadie round of the Canadian Superbike series runs this weekend at Atlantic Motorsport Park. As usual, there’s testing on Friday and Saturday; the racing starts with the first race of the CBR250R series double-header on Saturday, and the rest of the racing takes place on Sunday.

Since Costa has been doing so well in the CBR series, we figured we’d better keep the CMG flag flying; Editor ‘Arris will be racing in the CBR250R series this weekend, so be sure to come along and lend support (or point and laugh).

The controversial Sturgis North festival also continues to run until this weekend, ending on Sunday in Vernon, B.C. You can read all about the festival’s line-up of events (music! food! bike games!) here.

The Niagara Motorcycle Show runs Friday-Sunday at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Canada. There will be demo rides, a stunt show, and actor Ryan Hurst from Sons of Anarchy will be making an appearance. You can find out more information about the show here. Tickets cost $20 per day for adults, or $40 for three days; juniors (8-15) get in for $10 a day, or $20 for three days; kids under 7 get in free with an adult.

If you’re looking to help out a cause while you go for a ride, John’s Journey for Heart & Stroke takes place in Woodstock, Ontario, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the ride starting at 10:30 a.m.; proceeds from pledges raised go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Find out more details here.

Albertans looking for a day of fun can head to the Run to the Hills Rally Friday-Sunday. There will be the usual poker runs, show ‘n shine, food, beer gardens, and the like. It runs rain or shine. Registration is $30; more details are available here.
