Thousands of motorcyclists will ride to PEI for Atlanticade this weekend.

There’s lots going on this weekend, including Atlantic Canada’s massive Atlanticade rally getting underway today in Summerside.

There’s registration for the rally from 12-9 p.m. today, with the rally’s first run, a CAV-guided run to the PEI Regiment Museum taking place 1:30-5 p.m.

The rally officially opens between 6 and 6:30 p.m.; there will be biker skills games tonight, and there’s plenty of live entertainment today as well.

Over the next four days, there are plenty of guided rides around the Island, there’s a Support the Troops event on Friday, there’s a dyno available in Summerside for rally goers, there’s plenty more live music, and Raceway Park is going to let riders take their bikes down their quarter-mile drag strip (you must call ahead). On Saturday, John Mellencamps plays in Summerside.

Really, there’s just a ton of stuff going on at the festival, so your best bet to make sure you don’t miss anything is to check their official line-up of events here.

Of course, there’s lots of other stuff going on across the country this weekend.

The Northern  Ontario Ride for Sight takes place on Friday-Sunday in Sault Ste. Marie. You can find all the event details at their site here. As usual, the event will feature live music, bike games, group rides, but there’s also going to be a tug boat race – you can’t say it’s the same as any other rally.

Billtown, Nova Scotia is also hosting a rally this weekend, the 42nd Annual Bluenose Rally. Registration gets underway tonight. It’s the Continental Rally for FIM North America this year. It’ll have food, games, music, camping – all that fun stuff. It runs until Sunday – there are a few more details here.

The 2nd Annual Nanaimo Toy Run takes place on Saturday, with registration getting under way at 9 p.m. at Cedar Community Hall; the run leaves the Hall at 12 p.m., arriving at the VIEX grounds around 1:30 p.m. After that, there’ll be bike games, live music and the like until the Run’s 10 p.m. close. Check it out here.

New Liskeard, Ontario, has their Bikers Reunion running from today until Sunday. This year, they’re raising money to battle cancer. The weekend is full of events, including a mini motocross, vendors, demo rides from Harley-Davidson, Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Victory, a roller derby, and of course, food, music, and group rides. Check their events listed here.
