CNSS to produce western Canada shows in 2013

Sure, industry news like this isn't always exciting, but it can be quite a puzzle at times.
Sure, industry news like this isn't always exciting, but it can be quite a puzzle at times.

It’s a little hard to figure out what’s going on, but Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows (CNSS) will be producing the Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver shows in 2013.

You may remember that the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council (MMIC) took control of these shows’ management, along with their Moncton, Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto shows, under their new for-profit subsidiary, Power Sports Services (PSS). We told you about it last winter.

Well, in a confusing turn of events, it appears CNSS is still going to be involved with the shows in western Canada. An announcement from the MMIC last week states “the arrangement between PSS and CNSS for the 2013 show year is the appropriate next step in building on the future of shows.”

A follow-up call revealed Power Sports Services will retain management of the western shows, but the nuts and bolts will still be handled by CNSS in 2013.

As of right now, CNSS supposedly isn’t looking to get involved with any of the shows other than the western shows, but as always, that might change.
