Liberty Racing mends fences

It seems Liberty Racing is still keen on keeping Brett McCormick's spot open for his return.

After criticizing World Superbike series organizers, Liberty Racing seems to be trying to patch things up.

Last week, Liberty – Canadian racer Brett McCormick’s team – made headlines by criticizing series management over the Monza race, which by most accounts, was mismanaged.

However, with Infront Motorsports announcing they’ll give free paddock admission to Monza in 2013 for fans who have a coupon for the 2012 race, Liberty issued a thank-you note for the move.

Liberty also thanked Infront for not requiring them to replace injured Canadian racer McCormick. McCormick was badly hurt in a crash at the Assen race, and while some racers have been inquiring about the possibility of taking his spot on the team, Liberty said his bike would be waiting for him when he returned from convalescence. Infront has backed this decision up, instead of making them hire a fill-in – good news for McCormick, for sure.
