The American International Motorcycle Expo has announced it will be based in Orlando.
The first expo (known as AIME) is slated to run in October of 2013. Organizers are hoping to turn it into North America’s premier motorcycle expo, topping competitors such as Indianapolis’s Dealer Expo, and Cincinnati’s V-twin Expo.
Both of those mid-winter shows run in cities much further north; Orlando is a natural choice for motorcyclists who’d also like to enjoy some good weather while they take in the expo. It’s too bad the timing is off for Canadian snowbirds who want to beat the January freeze …
Supposedly, AIME organizers visited 10 cities before picking Orlando. The plan for the new expo is to make it a venue for business-to-business interaction (like the Indy show) as well as business-to-consumer interaction. Organizers say they want to bring together “all constituents of the motorcycle industry in one place, at one time, with one show.”
