John Hopkins has got to wonder if some witch doctor has put a voodoo curse on him.
The World Superbike racer is injured again, after a high-side accident in the opening race at Monza. He’s suffered two injuries to his hand already, in recent months, and this latest crash has broken his foot and torn some muscles in his hip.
The Crescent Suzuki team will decide whether or not to find someone to replace Hopkins at the Donington Park race after they learn more about the severity of his injuries.
Meanwhile in MotoGP, Colin Edwards has undergone surgery to repair his broken collarbone, which was fractured in five places after a crash in qualifying for the Portuguese Grand Prix. Doctors fixed him up with a titanium plate and ten screws, and he’s expected to start physical therapy in a week.
Edwards may not be ready to race by Le Mans on May 20, though, so he’s apparently put a call out on Twitter, asking for suggestions as to who should ride his CRT bike if he;s unable to make it.
